Margie Black

Growing up in Charleston, SC, Margie Black began working for a family owned construction company. She stayed with the company for many years, becoming familiar with design techniques, materials and installation methods. She left the construction company to explore the art of fine dining, working as lead server and office manager for a prestigious chef in downtown Charleston. In 2001, Margie moved to Crested Butte and picked up an office management position at Matchstick Productions. She stayed with Matchstick for two years before taking a clerk position at Mt. Crested Butte Water & Sanitation District, performing bookkeeping and various other office duties. Margie also maintained a second job at Donita’s Cantina for over eight years and loved serving the community in a family environment. She was hired on at the Community Foundation in 2015 and enjoyed networking with nonprofit organizations and donors to give back to the Gunnison Valley.

Margie and Michael met in 2010. As Paradise Tile and Design and Paradise Glass continued to grow, Margie found herself “helping out” more than usual. Being lured back into the construction field, she began to fuel her original attraction to design. Studying new trends, techniques, and materials was very exciting for her. So, in 2018, Margie left the Foundation to open Paradise Interiors with her partner, Michael. She is excited to return to her construction roots and pursue her career in kitchen and bath design. With a strong background in sales, customer service and office management, Margie is dedicated to providing her clients with the best possible service in the industry.
